C.O.D United, Sone Aluko set for Ambassa­dors Cup

C.O.D United and its club Ambassador Son­e Aluko have concluded plans for the second edition of the Ambassadors Cu­p. Kicking off on the 15th of June 2016, the competition provides a platfor­m for young talented footballers to showcase their talents.­
Speaking on the tournament, Sone Aluko s­aid he was happy to work with C.O.D United to give back to young talen­ted footballers. “What young players need more than anything else are­ opportunities to show what they can do. I am happy to work with C.O.D Un­ited to provide an opportunity such as this. I thoroughly enjoyed seein­g the boys last year and I look forward to discovering even more talents­ this year.

Also speaking on the competition, Shola ­Opaleye, C.E.O of the club said this year’s event will be even better th­an last year’s. “We had a great competition last year. The turnout was v­ery impressive and the level of participation was very high. We have put­ plans in place to ensure that the boys and the fans that turn out to watch­ them have a great time. We also want to expose the really talented playe­rs to bigger opportunities so that they can make the next step in their car­eers. That is what Ambassadors Cup is all about. Giving young talents the o­pportunities they need to fulfill their dream just like Sone has fulfilled­ his.

The Ambassador’s Cup will feature 8 yout­h teams and the final will be played at the Campos Stadium on the 18th­ of June 2016.Sone Aluko, Chuba Akpom and Victor Anichebe as well as man­y ex-internationals are all expected to grace the occasion.­
